Belay is On

Background

I have been climbing for over 40 years and I really like Multi Pitches. Sometimes, there is no eye contact between the 2 climbers and there are several communication methods used such as 2-3 pulls of the rope and/or shouting if possible. If there are multiple groups, it’s hard to know if the shouts are from your partner or from another group.
In recent years, cell coverage has increased and in many climbing areas, there is cellular reception and we carry phones. We use the phone to take pictures but not in order to communicate. As in many cases the phones are in the backpack or a special pockets, it is not convenient to take the phone out and call the other partner. My idea was to enable touch-less communication between group members.

Features

First version (current version):

• Climber 1 says a wakeup word (“Hey Moses”) and then command such as (“Off Belay”, “Belay is On”)
• Climber 2 will hear it on their phone and can then reply such as “Hey Moses”/”Climbing”.
